Archives are primary source documents that have accumulated over the course of a person’s or organisation’s lifetime. In some cases these documents have been selected for permanent or long-term preservation in formal archive repositories like the national archives. It should be remembered that local people or groups often hold important archives and documents themselves- for example letters or photographs, newspaper clippings, burial registries or wedding registries in parish centres and so on- and these are just as important as the government or business records to be found in formal repositories. Blue Brick Heritage offers a service organising and digitising these sources helping to make them available to the widest possible audience. Our graphic design and media department can even create a web-site for the community that allows access to these local collections from anywhere in the world.
